The code is missing initialization of NO_FCOE_FLAG and NO_ISCSI*FLAGS when CONFIG_CNIC is not selected. This causes panic during driver load since commit 1d187b34daaecbb87aa523ba46b92930a388cb21 where NO_FCOE tested unconditionally (outside #ifdef BCM_CNIC structure) and accessed fp[FCOE_IDX] which is not allocated. 2011-12-08sch_red: Adaptative RED AQMEric Dumazet
Adaptative RED AQM for linux, based on paper from Sally FLoyd, Ramakrishna Gummadi, and Scott Shenker, August 2001 : http://icir.org/floyd/papers/adaptiveRed.pdf Goal of Adaptative RED is to make max_p a dynamic value between 1% and 50% to reach the target average queue : (max_th - min_th) / 2 Every 500 ms: if (avg > target and max_p <= 0.5) increase max_p : max_p += alpha; else if (avg < target and max_p >= 0.01) decrease max_p : max_p *= beta; target :[min_th + 0.4*(min_th - max_th), min_th + 0.6*(min_th - max_th)]. alpha : min(0.01, max_p / 4) beta : 0.9 max_P is a Q0.32 fixed point number (unsigned, with 32 bits mantissa) Changes against our RED implementation are : max_p is no longer a negative power of two (1/(2^Plog)), but a Q0.32 fixed point number, to allow full range described in Adatative paper. To deliver a random number, we now use a reciprocal divide (thats really a multiply), but this operation is done once per marked/droped packet when in RED_BETWEEN_TRESH window, so added cost (compared to previous AND operation) is near zero. dump operation gives current max_p value in a new TCA_RED_MAX_P attribute. Example on a 10Mbit link : tc qdisc add dev $DEV parent 1:1 handle 10: est 1sec 8sec red \ limit 400000 min 30000 max 90000 avpkt 1000 \ burst 55 ecn adaptative bandwidth 10Mbit # tc -s -d qdisc show dev eth3 ... qdisc red 10: parent 1:1 limit 400000b min 30000b max 90000b ecn adaptative ewma 5 max_p=0.113335 Scell_log 15 Sent 50414282 bytes 34504 pkt (dropped 35, overlimits 1392 requeues 0) rate 9749Kbit 831pps backlog 72056b 16p requeues 0 marked 1357 early 35 pdrop 0 other 0 Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2011-12-08net/fec: fix the .remove codeLothar Waßmann
The .remove code is broken in several ways. - mdiobus_unregister() is called twice for the same object in case of dual FEC - phy_disconnect() is being called when the PHY is already disconnected - the requested IRQ(s) are not freed - fec_stop() is being called with the inteface already stopped All of those lead to kernel crashes if the remove function is actually used. 2011-12-08bridge: add local MAC address to forwarding table (v2)stephen hemminger
If user has configured a MAC address that is not one of the existing ports of the bridge, then we need to add a special entry in the forwarding table. This forwarding table entry has no outgoing port so it has to be treated a little differently. The special entry is reported by the netlink interface with ifindex of bridge, but ignored by the old interface since there is no usable way to put it in the ABI. 2011-12-08ssb: fix init regression with SoCsHauke Mehrtens
This fixes a Data bus error on some SoCs. The first fix for this problem did not solve it on all devices. commit 6ae8ec27868bfdbb815287bee8146acbefaee867 Author: Rafał Miłecki <zajec5@gmail.com> Date: Tue Jul 5 17:25:32 2011 +0200 ssb: fix init regression of hostmode PCI core In ssb_pcicore_fix_sprom_core_index() the sprom on the PCI core is accessed, but the sprom only exists when the ssb bus is connected over a PCI bus to the rest of the system and not when the SSB Bus is the main system bus. SoCs sometimes have a PCI host controller and there this code will not be executed, but there are some old SoCs with an PCI controller in client mode around and ssb_pcicore_fix_sprom_core_index() should not be called on these devices too. The PCI controller on these devices are unused, but without this fix it results in an Data bus error when it gets initialized. 2011-12-07ath9k: enable ANI for ar9100 chipsNikolay Martynov

2011-12-07ath9k: use config.enable_ani to check if ani should be performedNikolay Martynov
Currently in ath9k code there is an attempt which is meant to disable ANI for ar9100 and ar9340. But it doesn't really achieve this. All it does is disable ANI init and setup (i.e. calls to ath9k_hw_ani_setup and ath9k_hw_ani_init). Since ath9k_hw_ani_setup is not called ah->config.ani_poll_interval is never initialized (i.e. it is always zero) and ath_ani_calibrate always executes ANI procedures (over uninitialized ANI parameters). Moreover, ath_ani_calibrate is being called each 1ms because common->ani.timer is set to zero interval because ah->config.ani_poll_interval==0 (and thus smallest value of all intervals). Normally it should not be called this often. This patch changes the code so config.enable_ani is used to check if ANI should be performed. config.enable_ani is initialized to true by default. 2011-12-07ath9k: only drop packets in drv_flush when asked toFelix Fietkau
Recently more places in mac80211 call drv_flush to ensure proper order for state changes wrt. powersave, channel changes, etc. On some systems such calls lead to spurious logspam about failing to stop tx dma, as well as hardware resets that go along with that. Instead of dropping packets in a place where it's completely unnecessary, only do it when drop == true. Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@openwrt.org> Signed-off-by: John W. 2011-12-07ath9k: rework power state handlingFelix Fietkau
Turning off the radio when mac80211 tells the driver that it's idle is not a good idea, as idle interfaces might still occasionally scan or send packets. The only time the radio can be safely turned off is when drv_stop has been called. In the mean time, use sc->ps_idle only to indicate network sleep vs full sleep. Move the LED GPIO changes out of the PCI suspend/resume path, the start/stop functions already take care of that. Signed-off-by: Felix Fietkau <nbd@openwrt.org> Signed-off-by: John W. 2011-12-07ath9k: always issue a full hw reset after waking up from full-sleep modeFelix Fietkau
After waking up from full sleep, registers are accessible, but rx/tx typically fails. A fast channel change will not recover from this, so ensure that a full-sleep -> wake transition is always followed by a full reset. The reason why this hasn't created any serious problems yet is that it's hidden by the (wrong) behavior of enabling/disabling the radio when the wiphy idle state changes. 2011-12-07mac80211: fix another race in aggregation startJohannes Berg
Emmanuel noticed that when mac80211 stops the queues for aggregation that can leave a packet pending. This packet will be given to the driver after the AMPDU callback, but as a non-aggregated packet which messes up the sequence number etc. I also noticed by looking at the code that if packets are being processed while we clear the WANT_START bit, they might see it cleared already and queue up on tid_tx->pending. If the driver then rejects the new aggregation session we leak the packet. Fix both of these issues by changing this code to not stop the queues at all. Instead, let packets queue up on the tid_tx->pending queue instead of letting them get to the driver, and add code to recover properly in case the driver rejects the session. (The patch looks large because it has to move two functions to before their new use.) 2011-12-07net/fec: fix the use of pdev->idShawn Guo
The pdev->id is used in several places for different purpose. All these uses assume it's always the id of fec device which is >= 0. However this is only true for non-DT case. When DT plays, pdev->id is always -1, which will break these pdev->id users. Instead of fixing all these users one by one, this patch introduces a new member 'dev_id' to 'struct fec_enet_private' for holding the correct fec device id, and replaces all the existing uses of pdev->id with this dev_id.
