Recently more places in mac80211 call drv_flush to ensure proper order for state changes wrt. powersave, channel changes, etc. On some systems such calls lead to spurious logspam about failing to stop tx dma, as well as hardware resets that go along with that. Turning off the radio when mac80211 tells the driver that it's idle is not a good idea, as idle interfaces might still occasionally scan or send packets. The only time the radio can be safely turned off is when drv_stop has been called. In the mean time, use sc->ps_idle only to indicate network sleep vs full sleep. After waking up from full sleep, registers are accessible, but rx/tx typically fails. A fast channel change will not recover from this, so ensure that a full-sleep -> wake transition is always followed by a full reset. The reason why this hasn't created any serious problems yet is that it's hidden by the (wrong) behavior of enabling/disabling the radio when the wiphy idle state changes. 2011-12-07mac80211: fix another race in aggregation startJohannes Berg
Emmanuel noticed that when mac80211 stops the queues for aggregation that can leave a packet pending. This packet will be given to the driver after the AMPDU callback, but as a non-aggregated packet which messes up the sequence number etc. I also noticed by looking at the code that if packets are being processed while we clear the WANT_START bit, they might see it cleared already and queue up on tid_tx->pending. If the driver then rejects the new aggregation session we leak the packet. Fix both of these issues by changing this code to not stop the queues at all. Instead, let packets queue up on the tid_tx->pending queue instead of letting them get to the driver, and add code to recover properly in case the driver rejects the session. (The patch looks large because it has to move two functions to before their new use.) The code for setting the address of the internal TBI PHY was convoluted enough without a maze of ifdefs. Clean it up a bit so we allow the logic to fail down to -ENODEV at the end of the if/else ladder, rather than using ifdefs to repeat the same failure code over and over. Also, remove the support for the auto-configuration. I'm not aware of anyone using it, and it ends up using the bus mutex before it's been initialized. 2011-12-07net/fec: fix the use of pdev->idShawn Guo
The pdev->id is used in several places for different purpose. All these uses assume it's always the id of fec device which is >= 0. However this is only true for non-DT case. When DT plays, pdev->id is always -1, which will break these pdev->id users. Instead of fixing all these users one by one, this patch introduces a new member 'dev_id' to 'struct fec_enet_private' for holding the correct fec device id, and replaces all the existing uses of pdev->id with this dev_id. 2011-12-06mac80211: accept public action frames with mismatched BSSIDJohannes Berg
Arik's patch "mac80211: allow action frames with unknown BSSID in GO mode" allowed any action frames in P2P mode to go through, but only to cooked monitor interfaces as the IEEE80211_RX_RA_MATCH was still cleared. As a result my no-monitor patches broke invitation responses. Instead of allowing any action frames in P2P GO mode to go through with a wrong BSSID like that patch did, allow all public action frames. 2011-12-06mac80211: Add HT operation modes for IBSSAlexander Simon
The HT mode is set by iw (previous patchsets). The interface is set into the specified HT mode. HT mode and capabilities are announced in beacons. If we add a station that uses HT also, the fastest matching HT mode will be used for transmission. That means if we are using HT40+ and we add a station running on HT40-, we would transfer at HT20. If we join an IBSS with HT40, but the secondary channel is not available, we will fall back into HT20 as well. Allow frame aggregation to start in IBSS mode.
